Mountain Revue Summer League - Day 6
Spurs @ Jazz 7-21-06 Spurs 86 - Jazz 79 i hadn't followed many players in the draft this year so wasn't sure what to expect when we picked the three we did.. everyone seemed happy and all i heard was good, so i was hoping to see some good players.. i love our draft picks.. i haven't seen many others so i can't say i'd rather have anyone else.. millsap is the man on the glass.. brewer is crazy both from outside and driving to the basket.. i wish i could say i had the same upstairs row 1 season tickets next year too.. damn.. oh well. some of the pics are kinda blurry.. lighting at SLCC is pretty crappy.. or maybe it's my sucky camera skills.. i might get $5 tickets after all, if they're available in XX that is.. i couldn't sit anywhere else.. here's a funny story, when we were at the draft party a couple weeks ago, we filled out a whole entire pad of entires for the free season tickets.. they ended up calling me, and they ended up calling my dad too.. different reps called us.. funny, my dad was the season ticket holder the past few years and she didn't call him... i wonder how many entries we put in. anyways.. enjoy the jazzcrap for now... The 2006 NBA Draft Party Pictures at The Delta Center hello fellow jazzcrappers.. it's been a while, i can't say i don't miss posting my pictures for everyone after going to the games.. as you may or may not know, i won't have season tickets next season so i'm unsure how many games will have pictures.. i'm hoping to go to quite a few, but i don't know if that will happen.. if anyone from the jazz orginization reads this (or a radio station who wants to use me as a story), i am a dedicated fan who hasn't missed a game in 2 full seasons.. 86 straight games.. preseason included.. many of my fans would like to have jazzcrap pictures for every game as they have been acustomed to over the last 2 seasons, so if you'd like to get me tickets (even $5/game season tickets), i promise to go to every game and make it worth you're while.. let me hear from you (my email is above). anyways.. back on to the recap of the Jazz NBA Draft Party.. me and my dad made it right as the doors opened and somehow were able to cut right to the front of the very long line.. sweet... our usher chris emailed me and he was actually there too, he sat next to us and we discussed the draft.. i hadn't followed many of the players in the draft year, so i really didn't mind who we picked.. i'm glad we didn't pick reddick, his health problems probably wouldn't do us any good as we seem to have bad luck in that department.. the crowd cheered pretty loudly when KOC announced the pick of Ronnie Brewer, so it was fun to hear that.. we didn't stay long after the first pic... the locker room was open for tours and the nice usher actually let me go in and sit in Memo's chair and take a picture of me in the locker room.. thanks cool usher.. enjoy the pics everyone... @ Jazz
4-19-06 Jazz 105 - Warriors 102 it's weird thinking that i won't be coming back for next season.. this game was pretty fun for some reason.. we had fun talking to our usher Chris after the game.. there were a few extra gametime flyers by the portal, so i wasted no time in tossing them over after the game was over.. we tried to take his nametag or vest as a souvenier, but we couldn't get it from him.. we told him to hold up his yellow card (which calls security over, we tried to take that as well), but just couldn't get it.. we left empty handed. damn. the game was exciting at the end.. we caught up and pulled off the win to end the season at .500.. i'll miss ostertag, he was fun to blame things on for the past few seasons with the exception of last year.. he looked like he had fun today, it was fun cheering for him in the few minutes of the first quarter when he came into the game.. halftime was an introduction of all the jazz dancers, then the winners of the clean out a locker contest.. they drew cards to see whose locker they'd clean out.. i got a few pics of that since someone from the jazzhoops board won the contest (aren't you the one that came up to me at that team autograph party a while back?). i think so.. can't think of much else to write.. it's all coming to an end.. who from the jazz is gonna pitch in and buy me tickets for next season? you know i've been to 2 straight seasons (82 regular season games, 4 preason, 86 total), so it's not like the tickets will go unused.. i clap my heart out and share my experiences with fans from all over the world on the internet.. how many other jazz fans do that? anyways.. guess that does it for this update.. maybe i'll pull a random update out of my jazzcrap ass someday.. i've got a few things i could post (the funniest pictures gallery, a gallery of pictures of the delta center catwalk).. we'll think of something.. so long fellow jazz fans.. i'll miss being at every game and seeing people that i am familiar with; our usher chris and his boss scott, the other season ticket holder on the other side of the aisle in portal xx (i forgot your name), the homeless guy who always asked me for .23 cents.. you've all been great.. back to the pictures.. enjoy them for now.. give me some good traffic for the last time of the season! enjoy the crap.. Thumbnail
View Nuggets @ Jazz 4-12-06 Jazz 104 - Nuggets 83 with the exception of about 5 games or so, the same homeless guy always says to me on 300 west on my way to the game, "hey, i've got .87 cents so all i need is .23 cents, you have .23 cents?" i've never given him any money (because i usually haven't had change on my way to games), but today i happened to have a single quarter in my pocket.. i noticed him up the road and had it out and ready and gave it to him before he even asked me for it.. it was funny, he laughed.. stupid homeless guy.. does that mean good things will happen to me now? we played well most of the game tonight. the game was exciting and the crowd got loud a few times.. halftime was pretty boring, just the lame spring communcations team.. only a pic or two of those.. only 1 more game left in the season.. 4 more quarters of jazzcrap for the year.. i'll miss jazzcrap and hope i can get back to at least a few games next season.. enjoy the pics! View Rockets
@ Jazz with no t-mac and yao leaving early and not coming back (because of broken foot), i thought for sure we'd win this one and have a nice lead until the final buzzer. i was wrong and the rockets had a chance to pull it off in the end, but luckily missed two free throws late and took too long for a final game tying shot. whew.. that was a close one. only 2 more jazz games left.. 8 more periods of basketball left until no more. 2 more halftimeshows, they better be good.. speaking of halftime shows, this game's halftime was just weird.. i've got some videos of weird halftimes from the season, maybe i'll upload those in the offseason.. for now, check the photos of the halftime. nothing else much exciting.. we'll see ya the next two wednesday's then that's it for a while (here come the offseason jazzcrap updates!).. enjoy.. Thumbnail
View Blazers @ Jazz 4-8-06 Jazz 110 - Blazers 93 we played well and beat the blazers and were up for most of the game it seemed like. only 3 more games left after tonight's, so the offseason and possible no-tickets-next-year-situation will be pretty interesting.. we'll see what happens.. the funniest thing about tonight's game was the jazz bear dressing as the grim reaper and standing behind the blazers team for a minte in the fourth.. it was pretty funny.. enjoy the pics... Thumbnail
View Spurs @ Jazz 4-4-06 Spurs 95 - Jazz 86 this game sucked. it's saturday night and i'm just barely doing the pictures for it, so they can't be that good. i left the game in the 2nd quarter when we were down by about 24. we came back and made it almost interesting, but i still made the right choice because we lost.. i wasn't in a very good mood and wanted to get out of there, so enjoy what few crappy pics there are. Thumbnail
View Hornets @ Jazz 3-27-06 Jazz 104 - Hornets 80 i hate to say it, but there are probably only going to be 5 more regular jazzcrap updates for the year after this one.. also, no season tickets for next season.. unfortunately, i won't be attending all the games as i have gotten two for 80 straight.. it's been long, but unless someone from the jazz wants to give me tickets, i'll only be at a handful of games next year.. we'll see what happens.. (if anyone from the jazz wants to give me free tickets, please don't hesitate. i've been good to you all for two years, hint hint.) the game was pretty usual. it was the bear's birthday so mascots from around the leage were there during timeouts and around the crowd through the game. the jazz dancers played tug-of-war against the jazz bear and his other nba mascot friends.. the mascots gave up and let the jazz dancers win.. the jazz dancers were sliding all over the place, so they lucked out there. other than a few typos on the lineup for the hornets in the gametime flyer, that's about it. enjoy the late pics (it's now 3-29-06).. Thumbnail
View Kings
@ Jazz this game we were outplayed by the kings for most of the game. we caught up at the end and had a chance, but with .8 seconds left our chances were slim and harpring threw up an airball.. other than that, the game was just about the same as the last 79 straight.. in the 1st quarter, jazz dancer kelli was hit in the face by an errant pass by mike bibby.. she wasn't even paying attention at all, the ball hit her right smack dab in the noggin.. she went to the floor and covered her face, some security and other ushers came over and helped her off the court and covered her face.. the other dancers followed.. it must not have been that bad, she was dancing agian before halftime.. that's about it for this update... enjoy the crappy pics.. Wizards
@ Jazz tonight's game we trailed for most of the night.. we lost last year when stockton's jersey was retired against the Hornets, so i wasn't expecting much. the team seems distracted when big things happen during the game.. the game, statue and jersey ceremony were all pretty fun regardless.. when malone first took the mic, the fans cheered to a loud standing ovation for a few minutes.. just when it would get quiet, fans would start screaming and malone would wave his cowboy hat. Statue Ceremony -- the ceremony was supposed to start at 4:30.. i wanted to get there a little earlier, but didn't make it until around 4:27 or so, just before it started. there were about 4 times as many people as there were last year's for stockton's statue unveiling, so i couldn't get it from as good of an angle. the pics turned out well for the most part, i am proud of them. i'll get some daytime pics of the two statues sometime in the future. after the ceremony was over, i went inside and got my free malone statue, then went and took it home and got some new batteries before coming back to the delta center. Halftime Jersey Retirement - hot rod was the MC and announced the whole ceremony. they brought people out from the portal this year, as opposed to everyone at once like last year.. malones old coaches were introduced, his old teammates came out, everyone was cheered and welcomed loudly. kevin o'conner and dennis haslem came out to mixed boos from the fans, along with a few quieter ones when larry miller came out. malone's friends and family came out, malone was in trail and was the last person to come out. the crowd erupted and started cheering.. a few people spoke during the whole thing, Stockton had a few words, crying Larry Miller, Hot Rod, and even NBA Commissioner David Stern was there and spoke. just as they did last year, a rope from the raftors came down and along with his family, malone pulled the rope and the jersey became unveilled. it was an old logo, just like Stockton's was.. the only new jerset retired is Hornacek's now.. that's about it, halftime was extended, it probably lasted close to 30 minutes from start to finish. enjoy

@ Jazz tonight's giveaway for the game was miniballs from xo communcations. the balls were deflated to save space. the supervisor of our usher came over to say hi to me long before the game, so i mentioned i was upset i could not play with my ball as it was flat. he mentioned how much space 5000 inflated mini balls would take up, i said if the jazz cared about their fans, my ball would have air in it.. he took my ball down to fanzz and inflated the ball for me.. way to go usher supervisor scott. the game was good, even better that we won. we were down by 12 at halftime but fought back to beat the suns at home. raja threw up 10 three's, only making 3 of them.. i miss that guy, he was fun to have around. sorry for the late pics.. i'll have to get the pics up from malone's statue night up on time.. enjoy the jazzcrap. Thumbnail
View Mavericks @ Jazz 3-11-06 Mavericks 90 - Jazz 87 the jazz fought back and made the game interesting in the 2nd half, but then blew the comeback and went down by 10 late.. we fought back and made it interesting, but never really had a chance to win at the end, even though we lost by only 3. the game was pretty usual, for the most part.. in the 2nd half during the phillips 66 ball toss, a ball came up near me.. the ball landed in the aisle about 4 seats away which had people in them and i knew i couldn't get up to get it in time, so i just let other people take it.. i noticed later that the ball had $100 in gas coupons on it, if i would have known that sooner, i would have made a little more effort to get it.. damn.. during halftime, i met a fellow jazz message board member, stephenc17 from the upperbowl board.. i never thought about it, but i should have taken a pic.. maybe next time when you're at the game, but email me first or something.. that's it for this update.. enjoy the pics... @ Jazz tonight's highlight were the john stockton statues given away before the game.. if anyone wants to make a cash offer for mine, please don't hesitate to email.. ;) anyways.. another highlight was the pass thrown to kg for an alley oop, the crowed went whoa prety loud and it was a crazy dunk to see. we barely won, i stayed the whole game this time.. it's good we pulled off the win, who knows what larry would have done.. Thumbnail
View Magic @ Jazz 3-6-06 Jazz 90 - Magic 85 this game turned out to be a close one.. we ended up leaving at the start of the 4th quarter, when we were up by almost 20.. i was listening to the radio for a while, we blew the lead and almost the game.. dsteve and arroyo came back, so that was fun i guess.. enjoy the pics.. i'll never leave early again. @ Jazz the game was hyped up a bit called "fandamoneum". i guess the jazz had to get people to be louder, maybe that's because the team has been sucking so bad.. we got there pretty early, right around 6:30, about 90 minutes to tipoff.. i ended up with 3 rally towels, sweet.. they also gave away free chocolates before the game, the same ones they normally give out after the game when we win.. i got 2 to begin with, my dad went back after we got our seats and got a huge handful, then went back again and somehow got an entire bag of unopened chocolates.. they were a mess, most of them were thrown to other fans, both behind us, and in the lower bowl in the area in front of us.. since we were there so early, our usher was still handing out rally towels at the entrance and wasn't at our portal. we did his job and handed a few of the gametime flyers out to some random fans that were entering the portal. i think they were confused and didn't really know what was going on.. our old friend season ticket holder Bill made it to tonight's game.. he showed up just before halftime, and we actually got he people next to us to move over a few seats so he and his fiancee judy could come sit in our row. they sat there for most of the 4th quarter.. another person from the jazzfanz.com message board also came up to me and introduced himself.. i am not sure who it was - who were you? Thumbnail
View Bobcats @ Jazz 3-1-06 Bobcats 104 - Jazz 89 as it's now late for the pictures of this game, the recap for it will be short. we sucked most of the game.. just enjoy the pictures, they're the best part about it, even though they kind of suck too.. between quarters after the 1st quarter, the jazz bear came and took a single chair out of the front row.. nobody really knew what he was doing, but a bobcats fan came back a minute later talking on a call phone, looking for his seat, which was now gone.. it was obviously rigged, but it was still pretty damn funny.. @ Jazz tonight's giveaway were free jazz pens, which turned out to be pretty nice. my dad ended up getting 2 from his entrance, i only got one. i should have asked for two. they made for some artwork before the game in the issue of gametime. we were outplayed most of the game and it was just like most of the other losses i've seen, long and boring. maybe next time. i believe it was in the third quarter when our section won the plaza cycle cycle race game thing.. i noticed the jazz dancers and a guy with headphones on standing at our portal and immediately knew what it was for. soon after in a timeout, alan handey came on and started the race.. the jazz dancers threw the section above us free frisbee's. no love for the people in the front row.. what's up with that crapola... stupid jazz dancers i tried to take more random crowd shots for people, so they can find themselves. i hope you see you in the pics.. enjoy. sorry they are so late, had some apartment drama.. moral of the story: don't get apartments with lesbians, even if you think they are your friend.. @ Jazz welcome back carlos boozer.. i cheered you when you came onto the floor.. i'm not sure if the fans who were booing you meant to, or if it was just because that's your name.. i didn't take very many pictures tonight because i had a date with me, but enjoy the few that i took of the game.. enjoy the jazzcrap.. @ Jazz tonight's game turned out to be a good one. thanks to memo for saving the day at the end of overtime. he's really been money for us when we've needed him to be. tonight's giveaway was Jeff Hornacek Statues, which are part of the series of all their retired jerseys.. i was there almost 90 minutes early for mine.. about 86 minutes or so before the game, i was talking to our usher Chris at portal XX. we were watching some of the players warm up and williams went up for a basket, neither of us saw how he went up, but he layed on the court and grabbed his ankle. neither corbin or layden bothered to go help him up.. he eventaully hobbled off the court alone, and didn't come back in game clothes.. he changed to a suit and sat with boozer, owens, giricek and whaley. good signings from last year i guess.. @ Jazz these pics are late as it's now saturday night.. it always seems like the refs are against us when we play the kings, a few bogus calls in the game should have gone the other way.. i guess it doesn't matter, because we won. edited and touched up a few of the pictures, take a look at them and maybe i'll touch more up. they look ok, but let me know if you like them. enjoy the pics. for people to and from the jazzhoops forum, which is closing, email me if you would like a link to be added at the bottom.. see the very bottom of the page for all of my jazzcrap links.. @ Jazz today's game was pretty usual.. i got to the game around 5:45 or so because they were giving away free backpacks.. i haven't missed a free giveaway in years so i figured, why start now.. i was watching some of the players warm up and a handicap kid in a wheelchair rolled onto the floor.. he had one of the Jazz's silver basketballs in his hands.. one of the assistant coaches and a few other people helped the kid up and held him up to the basket so he could dunk it.. i though it was special, see the first of my favorite pics..i was a little late, but oh well.. my brother was there with his girlfriend (who is 2 months away from being 21). he bought her a beer at halftime, about halfway through the third quarter we looked down and an usher was escorting both of them to the top of the portal.. they were lower bowl on the other side, so we saw it all. it wasn't pretty, he didn't return that night.. too bad.. moral of this story - don't drink beer in public unless 1) you're old enough, or 2) you have a legit fake Id. enjoy the pics regardless Thumbnail

@ Jazz the
most exciting thing about tonight's game was the jazz bear riding
down the aisle on a bike to a jump waiting on the court. woo hoo.
larry announced at the end of the 1st that march 3rd would be malone's
jersey retirement and statue day, but i already knew that by reading
the internet. i guess it's not so big when you already know.. Thumbnail
View Sonics @ Jazz 1-25-06 Sonics 113 - Jazz 94 we sucked this game from the opening tipoff.. i wasn't cheering much, and i didn't take very many pictures.. the ones taken are of good quality, but there are not as many as usual.. enjoy the ones that are there, nothing exciting happened this game.. 66th straight. Thumbnail
View Nets @ Jazz 1-23-06 Jazz 89 - Nets 78 i am going go to try to keep this recap short and simple.. 65th straight game, kidd triple double, jazz still win. i have a pic of why williams isn't starting, he's too tired. see pic 5. and, some season ticket holders who sit to the right of us said their parents had seats row 9 behind the nets bench, portal h. they said they were leaving after the third and if we wanted to we could go. the stupid usher wouldn't let us in without a ticket, so we had to walk all the way back.. lame. @ Jazz tonight's game was fun even though we lost. we've now lost 3 in a row at home against the Cavaliers...even though we lost, a few things happened that made the game fun.. congrats to Lebron for scoring 51 points, i thought that was exciting and we all started cheering him late in the 4th quarter when he was getting close to the mark.. he received a standing ovation as he was checking out by the fans here, it was fun cheering for him.. i think it's the first time i've seen a player score 50 in person. Vince came close a few years ago high in the 40's, but none have scored 50.. correct me if i'm wrong because i am curious to know.. between the 1st and second quarters, nba referee official #44 Ron Olesiak hit a target with a football to win everyone buy one get one free tickets.. they told us it would be a free ticket, but was actually buy one get one free... liars.. also in a timeout in the 1st quarter, a guy made a half court shot to win everyone free Sprite 12 packs.. i got my coupon this time, unlike the last time when they had the contest and the guy made it too.. it was exciting, everyone cheered for him.. enjoy the pics Thumbnail

@ Jazz tonight's
game was fun and we played well as a team. before the game, they
announced that Courtney Kirkland was one of the refs.. i remembered
that he was the ref who Sloan pushed to get suspended for 7 games
a few years ago, so i figured the game would be interesting.. it
was pretty interesting, but i guess it was Danny Crawford who he
was arguing with at the end. not sure who called his technical...
Heat
@ Jazz this
loss was the first loss at home since December 9th, vs the Sonics.
it sucks to lose, but we played well in parts of the game and we
at least kept it close the whole way.. here's a funny... i was listening
to the game on my mp3 player as i usual do, and early in the 2nd
quarter during a free throw hot rod wasn't saying anything, all
i could hear was gumbling noises like he was picking something up..
i looked at him and he was picking up his coat.. i think something
must have spilled or something, he said F***, in a quiet whispering
voice.. it was funny, i started laughing and had to tell people
what i was laughing about.. anyone else catch that? that's
all.. enjoy the pictures The

@ Jazz who
the hell is Kobe anyways? AK's been on fire these last few games
and tonight he was off the charts, again. if he played like this
every night, i'm sure we'd win many more games. i hope we make the
playoffs, but that's a long ways away.. my usher told me to take
a look at Boozer, he thought that he had been wearing same Suit,
Tie and Shirt to the last 3 games.. i checked the photos, and the
suits and ties were different, but maybe not the shirts.. take a
look for yourself and see.. here's
a funny story. the 4 seats to the right of me between me and the
aisle are owned by the same guy, a season ticket holder. he usually
comes to games with who i am assuming is his wife.. there were 2
empty seats next to me because it was only the 2 of them tonight,
so some dumbass fan came up and said these were his seats, that
the season ticket holder should move his coat off of it.. the holder
said, "no, these aren't your seats, i own them." the fan
looked around like he wasn't wrong here.. the season ticket holder
said, "you're welcome to sit here, if you pay me for the seats.."
luckily for the fan, 2 seats on the other side of us were empty,
so he looked at his ticket like those were his, not the ones he
was thinking, then went and sat down.. i laughed with the season
ticket holders next to me, it was kinda funny.. i should have taken
a picture of the guy.. that's
all, enjoy the pics. The

wins in a row is nice, and it's always exciting when someone gets
ejected (even our own coach). but i would have to say my favorite
thing about tonight's game was a picture i took right at tipoff.
i'm not sure if it was the camera settings i was testing, or the
flashes that came from all around right at the same time, but the
picture that i got is great. you can even zoom open it full sized

the last 58 straight jazz games i've been to. williams was back
and started. whaley sat behind the bench in his street clothes with
a bandage on his hand, i got a snap of that. there was a scuffle
in the 4th after a bad jump ball, but they called no technicals
for it and play resumed on as usual. next game is after christmas,
i'm glad because it's time for a break. The
